Introduction of College of Management

【About CM】
The College of Management was established in 1998 and since then it has built up a good reputation throughout the years. Currently, there are six departments and five master's degree program in the College of Management. They are Department of Economics (bachelor's degree and master's degree), Department of International Business Studies (bachelor's degree and master's degree), Department of Information Management (bachelor's degree and master's degree), Department of Banking and Finance (bachelor's degree and master's degree), Department of Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality Management (bachelor's degree and master's degree) and Interdisciplinary Program of College of Management (bachelor's degree). Besides, the College of Management offers programs such as Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) – domestic class/ oversea class for working professionals who are looking to do further study, and a master's degree/ Ph.D. degree in Strategy and Development of Emerging Industries in correspondence with market needs. The College of Management are very proud to have 59 academic staff members of whom are all highly educated with Ph.D. degrees and are experienced in teaching. There are over 1,800 students in the whole college of management – 1,500 undergraduates, 200 Masters students and 60 Ph.D. students.

【Mission】
The College of Management has actively combined industry and academic resources to promote interdisciplinary and transnational learning in order to meet the market demand of skillful professions. With this mission in mind, the College of Management hopes to cultivate students with the ability to predict future market trends – (Foresight), the ability to cope with pressure and the ability to adapt to a changing environment – (Flexibility) and the ability to solve problems and provide solutions – (Feasibility analysis). In that, the College of Management expects graduates to have the necessary knowledge and skills to apply directly to the workplace and the ability to continuously develop in their career paths.

【Strategic Planning】
Establish interdisciplinary degree program and cultivate students to become cross-disciplinary talents.
To provide various interdisciplinary degree programs for students to have more options to study. It is expected that by providing interdisciplinary courses to students will broaden their perspectives and enrich their knowledge in different fields of study. It is therefore will allow students to have more employment opportunities in the society.

Invite business professions to provide practical teaching and decrease theory-based teaching
The idea of inviting business professions to become a lecturer in the College of Management is not only to enhance the collaboration relationships with industries, but also to deepen the integration of department courses and industry practices to cultivate students with the ability to practically apply their knowledge and skills to the workplace.  
 
Provide internship opportunities and enhance students' competitive advantage in employment
It is expected that internship opportunities are the stepping stones for students to have a better understanding of the workplace through learning practical skills and applying their knowledge at works. This will indeed increase student's competitiveness in the workplace.    

Provide subsidy for students to go abroad where opportunities are provided for students to broaden their perspectives internationally
In order to reward for students going abroad, the College of Management has formulated “Overseas homework guidelines for subsidized students of College of Management”. This is to encourage students to participate in international exchanges and international conference, to study and research abroad, to do research in special topic with overseas universities, to do overseas internship, to attend international volunteer service and many more.
